Installation
From a new account to a machine locked and ready for its first pre-start. Your team sets up the account and GoTags. Your own licensed auto electrician fits the Interlock.
Part 1
Owner or manager
Most of this can happen in any order, with one rule the platform enforces: equipment groups come before equipment and before licences. GoTags and devices are Parts 2 and 3.

Part 2
Anyone can fit one. A Technician links it.
Part 3
A licensed auto electrician with a Technician licence
Warning

Two rules decide which wire you touch. The Interlock locks the moment it decides to lock, with no grace period. These rules are what make that safe.
An install that breaks this rule turns every lock into an engine cut. No software setting makes it safe.
Yes
Starter circuit
Carries no current while the engine runs. Opening it can't stop the machine; it only prevents the next start.
Yes
Operator-presence circuit
Opening it looks exactly like the operator standing up, which the machine's own safety systems already handle.
Never
Any circuit live while the engine runs
Opening it would cut the engine. Check the circuit is dead while the engine runs before you go further.
The interrupted circuit goes through J5 (COM) and J6 (NC). The relay is energised when the Interlock is locked, so the can-start position is the de-energised one: COM to NC.
Danger
Pick what suits the machine, then record it as the device's Mode during commissioning. The device can't detect how it was wired.
Starter engine-start inhibitor
While locked: the machine won't start. A running engine is unaffected.
Safety operator-presence inhibitor
While locked: the machine starts and stops normally but can't be fully operated. It reads the seat as vacated.
Permanent power is the default. The choice changes two terminals: J8 and J2.
Permanent power
Stays powered with the key off. The sense input must be wired, or the operator timeout fires mid-shift.
Ignition power
Powers down with the key and boots locked on every key-on, so each start needs a Confirm in the app or a new pre-start.
Note
Once confirmed, the device is registered and its device subscription starts billing.
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| LED dark after reconnecting the battery | No power reaching the unit | Check supply, ground and fuse; confirm 6–36 V DC |
| Flashing green never becomes purple | Registration never reached the device | Stay in Bluetooth range, confirm the phone is online, restart commissioning |
| Flashing purple went back to green | The 30 second window timed out | Nothing was saved. Run it again and press the button promptly |
| Amber flashing after commissioning | The self-test found a fault | It still allows starting (Fail-START). Reconnect with the app; contact support if it persists |
| Machine cranks while locked (Starter) | Relay wired through J4, not J6 | Rewire through J5 + J6 |
| Operator timeout fires mid-shift | Sense input unwired on permanent power | Wire J2 to the ignition-switched line |
