What's new
A site's settings now have a Pre-start gates section with two switches. They are checked at every pre-start on a machine inducted at that site.
- Require site induction for pre-starts. The operator must be on the site's roster with current access, or the pre-start is refused.
- Require recent toolbox attendance for pre-starts. The operator must have attended a toolbox talk at the site within the Toolbox attendance window you set, in whole hours, or the pre-start is refused.
If a pre-start fails both, the operator is told about both at once, so they can sort everything out in one go.
Good to know
- Set per site. The gates are set for each site on its own, and never inherit an organisation-wide default.
- The site's rules apply. A visiting contractor's operator is held to the host site's gates, and to their own induction and toolbox attendance at that site, not to anything in their own organisation.
- Offline pre-starts are kept. A pre-start done without signal has already happened on the phone by the time it syncs, so refusing it then would only lose the record. If it fails a gate, it's kept with a warning naming the site and the rule, and flagged for review. See Reviewing Flagged Pre-Start Checks.
- Builder sites only. The gates are part of site check-in, which comes with the Builder plan. A machine that isn't inducted at any site isn't affected by them.
See Site Inductions and Toolbox Talks for running inductions and toolbox talks.
