Overview
A paid PreStartGo plan can be paid for in three ways. A contract is optional — you can run a paid plan month to month indefinitely, with no term and no commitment. Every paid plan is set up with you by the PreStartGo team, and we'll go through these options with your quote.
| How you pay | Billed |
|---|---|
| Month to month, no contract | Monthly, in advance |
| Annual prepay, no contract | Once a year, in advance |
| Signed 1-year contract | Monthly, in advance |
| Signed 2-year contract | Monthly, in advance |
| Signed 3-year contract | Monthly, in advance |
Annual prepay and each signed term earn a discount, and a longer term earns a larger one — the exact rates are quoted with your plan.
Month to month
The default. You pay the plan's monthly price each month and can stop at any time. Nothing is locked in.
Annual prepay
Pay a year in advance and take a discount. To move from monthly to annual prepay, or back again, talk to us.
Signed contract terms
A signed term of 1, 2 or 3 years earns a discount that grows with the length of the term, and is still billed monthly — the term changes the rate and the commitment length, never the payment rhythm. A signed contract is also the route to volume or specially negotiated pricing on device subscriptions.
Warning
The annual-prepay discount and the contract-term discount do not combine. A signed term is billed monthly by definition, so there is no annual prepayment for it to discount. One route or the other, never both.
Worth noticing before signing a 1-year term: it earns the same discount as annual prepay while committing you for the year — the shorter term's real value is fixed pricing and the negotiated-rates door, not a better discount. The 2- and 3-year terms are where the rate genuinely improves.
What the discount covers
The discount applies to your whole recurring subscription — the plan fee, device subscriptions and add-ons alike — for the life of the arrangement, and it shows as its own line on each invoice.
It does not apply to one-time hardware purchases (Interlocks, Trackers and GoTags bought outright); those are priced separately and billed once.
Edge cases
- Growing mid-term — devices added during a term bill at your term's discounted rate from commissioning; the discount covers the whole recurring subscription as it stands each month, not a snapshot from signing day.
- Term end — talk to us as a term approaches its end about renewing at a term rate; without a new term, service continues rather than stopping.
- Changing how you pay — between monthly and annual prepay, or into a signed term — is arranged with our team. Talk to us or email sales@prestartgo.com.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No discount visible on the invoice | You're on month-to-month | The published rate is the month-to-month rate |
| Expected annual + term discounts together | They never combine | Choose the route that suits — see the comparison above |
| Hardware invoiced at full price under a term | Correct — the discount covers recurring lines only | Hardware is bought outright, outside the term |
| Want out of a term early | A signed term is a real commitment | Talk to your account contact |
